Ingredients
Basmati rice | 2 cups |
Biriyani masala powder | 1 tbsp |
Chilli powder | ½ tsp |
Cumin powder | 1 tsp |
Shrimp | 400 gm |
Fried onion | 1 cup |
Cilantro | ½ bunch |
G/g paste | 1 tbsp |
Mint | 1 bunch |
Green chillies | 4 |
Oil | 1 cup |
Cumin | ½ tsp |
Yogurt | 2 cups |
Whole garam masala | 10 |
Salt, cashew nuts | |
Black cumin | ½ tsp |
Coriander powder | 1 tsp |
Method
- Soak rice for at least 30 minutes.
- In boiled water, add oil, whole spices, black cumin, salt and rice – Cook till 85% to 90% cooked. Drain it.
- In a bowl, mix shrimp, salt, g/g paste, chilli powder, and coriander powder well and marinate for at least 2 hours.
- Heat oil in a pan; add spices, cumin and shrimp. Fry on both sides.
- Remove the shrimp.
- In the same oil, add yogurt, green chillies, cilantro, mint leaves, salt biriyani masala and fried onions – mix well.
- Add fried shrimp and mix well.
- Now add rice. Level it and sprinkle cilantro, fried onion, garam masala.
- Cover it and cook for 10 minutes. When the steam on the lid, sim the flame and cook for another 5 minutes.
