Method
- Marinate chicken with salt, curd, turmeric powder, 1tsp chilli powder and 1 ½ tsp g/g paste for at least 1 hour.
- Soak rice for at least 30 minutes.
- Fry half of the whole spices slightly and grind with mint leaves, cilantro and green chillies coarsely.
- Heat butter in a pressure cooker and add oil, add whole spices and bay leaves.
- Add onions and fry well.
- Add g/g paste and fry.
- Add tomatoes and fry well.
- Add the remaining powder and mix well.
- Now add the marinated chicken and cook well without adding water.
- Add salt if necessary.
- Once the chicken is getting cooked, add rice and mix well. Add water and pressure cook for 1 whistle.
- Switch off the stove. Rest till the gas is released.
- Garnish with fried cashews, cilantro and fried onions.
