Spicy Mutton Gravy


I love to try new recipes. I just got this recipe from some cookery show. I tried and it turned out well. Everyone loved it. It is one of my favorites recipes. Mutton lovers can try and enjoy. I will post the picture soon.

Ingredients

 Mutton - 1 kg
 Onion - 1/2 kg (sliced)
 Tomato - 4-5 (sliced)
 Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup (chopped)
 Mint leaves – 1/4 cup
 Curry leaves  - handful
 Ginger – 2” piece (finely chopped)
 Garlic – 10 cloves (finely chopped)
 Green Chilly - 5
 Oil to deep fry onion
 Salt to taste
 Coriander powder – 1 tbsp.
 Garam masala – 1 ¼  tsp.
 Fenugreek powder – ½ tsp.
 Turmeric powder - 1 tsp.
 Red chilly powder – 2 tbsp.
 Cumin powder - 1 tsp.
 Cashew nut - 1 tsp.
 Raisin - 1 tsp.
 Water – 1 cup

  Method

Ø  Pressure Cook mutton with water,  1 tbsp. coriander powder, 1 tbsp. red chilly powder, 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder, 1 tsp. garam masala, 1 tsp. cumin powder and 2 tsp. salt for 5 to 7 whistles.

Ø  Deep fry onion till crisp and golden brown.

Ø  In the same oil, roast cashew nuts and raisin. Drain them and keep aside.

Ø  Heat 2 tsp. of oil in a pan.  Add tomatoes into the oil. Then, add  fenugreek powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, green chillies, coriander leaves, few mint  leaves, few curry leaves, garlic, ginger. Sauté.

Ø  Now add 1/4 tsp. gar.am masala, 1 tbsp. red chilli powder and 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder. Sauté the mix.

Ø  Pour a little water from the cooked mutton into the tomato mix.

Ø  Add half of the sautéed onion into the tomato mix and stir well.

Ø  Now add this tomato masala to the boiled mutton and cook for 5 minutes.

Ø  Allow the mix to properly spread over the mutton flesh.

Ø  Garnish it with the remaining crisp onion, cashew nuts and raisin.
