Spinach Masala Vadai


Ingredients

1 cup channa dal (kadalai paruppu)
2 cup chopped spinach
1 medium onion (chopped)
1 teaspoon fennel seeds
1 inch ginger (chopped)
2 green chillies (chopped)
Curry leaves
Salt to taste
Oil for frying

Method
 
Ø  Wash and Soak channa dal for 3 hours. Grind it to a coarse paste without adding water.
Ø  Combine ground dal, spinach, onion, green chillies, fennel seeds, ginger, curry leaves and salt. Mix everything together.
Ø  Take a lime sized ball of the mixture and make into a smooth ball. Pat the dal ball into a flat disc of about 1/4" thickness. Repeat with the rest of the dal mixture and place on a plate.
Ø  Heat oil in a kadai at medium heat and deep fry till golden brown on both sides.
