Pepper Shrimp Masala


Generally, I will not add pepper with shrimp. I just wanted to do some different preparation of shrimp. First, I tried with pepper only. But, I didn’t get a nice flavor. Something was missing. So, I just tried with pepper and fennel powder. It worked. The taste was very good and got nice flavor too. So, why can’t you try this recipe?. Try and post your views.

Ingredients

1 lb. shrimp

1 medium onion chopped

2 tomatoes

1 tsp. ginger garlic paste

½  tsp. red chilli powder

¼ tsp. turmeric powder

¼  tsp. fried fennel seeds

1 tsp. pepper corns

Curry leaves, salt to taste

2 tbsp. oil

Method

Ø  Make a coarse powder of fennel and pepper corns.

Ø  Heat oil in a pan, add onion. Fry till golden brown color.  Add few curry leaves, mix for few seconds.

Ø  After that add, ginger garlic paste. Sauté till raw smell goes away.

Ø  Now, you can add tomatoes, chilli powder and turmeric powder. Sauté till tomatoes are done. Once tomatoes done, add pepper/fennel  powder. Mix for a minute.

Ø  It’s time to add shrimp and salt. Cover and cook for 6 to 7 minutes. Open the lid and mix well. Do not overcook. Finally add some more curry leaves.

Ø  Serve with rice, chappathi, roti, naan etc.
